With FPV Drones Overhead: French Photographer Documents Evacuations in Donetsk Oblast

French photographer Pierre Crom once again joined evacuation crews of East SOS to document the rescue of civilians from frontline areas.

In Sloviansk, Pierre documented the evacuation mission carried out by rescuers Eduard Skoryk and Roman Buhaiov. The team managed to evacuate seven people from shelling, including a child. One of the photographs shows Roman carrying a drone detector, as the worsening security situation has left the city under constant threat of enemy FPV drone attacks.

In Kramatorsk, Pierre captured the evacuation of 87-year-old Liudmyla and 64-year-old Andrii, who was assisted by evacuation team member Vladyslav Arsenii. Andrii is a person with a disability, and neighbors had to help carry him to the evacuation vehicle.

East SOS urges elderly people and persons with disabilities to evacuate from high-risk areas without delay. Evacuating these groups requires more time and complex logistics, so it is crucial to leave in advance, while specialized transport can still reach the area. Together with partners, the East SOS evacuation crews have already helped rescue more than 97,000 people, including more than 16,000 people with reduced mobility.

Evacuation registration is available via the East SOS hotline, operating Monday to Saturday (8:00–18:00): 0 800 332 614.

Earlier, East SOS called on the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration to urgently declare mandatory evacuation at frontline-adjacent settlements of Zaporizhzhia Raion.
