East SOS Calls on the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration to Urgently Declare Mandatory Evacuation at Frontline-Adjacent Settlements of Zaporizhzhia Raion

East SOS is calling on the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration to urgently consider declaring a mandatory evacuation for residents of the following settlements in Zaporizhzhia Raion: Tavriiske, Zarichne, Komyshuvakha, Novomykolaivka, and Vilniansk, as well as other nearby settlements located in close proximity to the battle line.

Why this is critical:

  1. The deteriorating security situation poses an immediate threat to the lives and health of civilians who continue to live in frontline hromadas (communities) of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
  2. At the same time, the absence of a decision to declare a mandatory evacuation results in systemic limitations in people’s access to state and humanitarian support. Individuals who leave high-risk areas independently are effectively deprived of the full scope of cash assistance and social guarantees provided to the population evacuated from territories where mandatory evacuation has been formally declared.
  3. Uncertainty surrounding evacuation status also significantly reduces people’s willingness to leave. Residents postpone evacuation due to fears of being left without support in their new location, which directly increases risks to their lives.
  4. The lack of a formal decision further complicates the coordination of evacuation processes and creates additional risks for crews conducting evacuation missions. The situation is further exacerbated by a significant increase in targeted FPV drone attacks on civilian transport and humanitarian routes, which in some cases makes certain settlements effectively inaccessible for safe humanitarian access.

East SOS is ready to provide comprehensive support in organizing evacuation efforts and calls for urgent decisions to be made to save civilian lives.
