East SOS Team Provided Assistance to Those Affected by Russian Shelling in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro
On the night of 15 April, the russian army attacked Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro.
For the second time this week, Zaporizhzhia came under enemy fire. An enterprise was hit, cars in a parking lot were completely burned out, a public transport stop and a market stall were destroyed. Tragically, the attack claimed the life of a 74-year-old woman who worked at the stall. Windows, balconies, and facades in five apartment buildings were damaged, and a vocational education institution was also affected.
Specialists from the East SOS team in Zaporizhzhia promptly arrived at the sites of the shelling to support residents of the damaged homes. They provided three psychological consultations and five legal consultations.

Requests concerned emotional stabilization, procedures for applying for compensation through the e-Recovery (yeVidnovlennia) program, and entering data into the State Register of Property Rights.
In Dnipro, russian forces attacked the city centre: a nine-story building was damaged, and a fire broke out in an administrative building. Three people were injured. A 29-year-old woman was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
In the morning, East SOS specialists supported residents of Dnipro. Our lawyer provided 19 consultations related to compensation for damaged and destroyed property, while a social worker delivered two consultations and two services. Our psychologist consulted nine people.
“Residents of the affected buildings are overwhelmed by fear and anxiety. All their energy goes into basic things: receiving assistance, submitting applications, and somehow holding themselves together. People were disoriented and had acute stress reactions: they couldn’t tell whether it was morning or day, got lost in information, and couldn’t describe how they felt. There were also those who had previously lost their homes and gone through the recovery process. They appeared more composed—they knew what to do, how to act, and even supported others,” shared the foundation’s psychologist, Daria Astakhova.
