On 5 May 2026, East SOS Marks its 12th Anniversary! Since 2014, we have stood alongside those living through the consequences of war.

Twelve years ago, it all began as a small initiative, Luhansk SOS, driven by a simple and sincere desire to help people. Back then, no one truly knew how long or difficult this journey would be. Today, we are a large team working under a new name across all government-controlled territory of Ukraine. We are more than 250 people united by a shared value: to stand with others and ensure no one faces hardship alone.

We know well what loss feels like, and we share that experience with others, as many of our team members have had to leave their homes behind.

Over the years, we have witnessed thousands of stories of Ukrainian people. We have seen homes, cities, and entire communities destroyed. We have seen people lose access to electricity, heating, and medical care. We have seen children grow up far too fast, deprived of their right to a carefree childhood. And we see, every day, how russia seeks to erase our culture, memory, and future.

In response to the challenges of war, we have built 10 key programs: call center, evacuation, monitoring and evaluation, humanitarian, reconstruction, psychological and social support, human rights, educational, and war crimes documentation. This is systemic support starting from the first call for help and continuing for as long as it is needed.

And as long as the war continues, we continue our work every day and every minute, holding on to the hope of peace.
