All projects about activitiesOur Team
Since 2014, humanitarian aid has been a central focus of the foundation’s efforts. Our missions involve analyzing local situations, identifying and publicizing the most pressing issues and needs of affected populations, and expanding our outreach. In collaboration with our partners both in Ukraine and internationally, we organize fundraising events and campaigns to support those in need.

History
The team initially provided direct assistance to those staying at the frontline or fleeing the occupation. As the situation evolved, we expanded our focus to include the systemic development of communities.
Our main focus was on addressing the needs of the population, educational institutions, medical facilities, and cultural centers, primarily in the government-controlled areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Our team supported IDPs and those facing challenging times by delivering 5,800 kg of clothing to residents of the frontline areas in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. This clothing was generously donated by Ukrainian citizens.
Our monitoring missions assessed the current capacities and needs of medical facilities in the Luhansk region during the COVID-19 pandemic. We provided essential supplies to priority hospitals, including supplementary equipment, express tests, transportation for biological materials for PCR testing, personal protective equipment, and disinfection materials.
With the support of international donors, we could send food and hygiene kits upon request, along with protective equipment such as masks, gloves, and antiseptics.
In 2020, the East SOS team played a crucial role in saving the Luhansk region from a massive wave of fires that destroyed hundreds of hectares of pine forest and settlements. During this time, we also set up a 24/7 assistance hub in Sievierodonetsk.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the number of requests has significantly increased. After relocating to Uzhhorod, we rented premises and established a food and hygiene kit packaging line. On February 24, 2022, the East SOS Charity Foundation, in partnership with other organizations, opened warehouses and packaging lines for emergency response. We distributed aid—including food and hygiene products—to civilians, points of invincibility, and volunteer centers.
Additionally, we provided hospitals and paramedic stations with medical equipment and generators. With the support of our international partners, we set up heating points and evacuation centers to assist those in need.
We responded to urgent requests and launched numerous projects to support people facing winter conditions without access to water, electricity, or gas. Our team purchased and delivered generators, firewood for heating, bedding, and other essentials to communities and educational institutions that had been transformed into shelters. Additionally, we provided construction materials to help rebuild de-occupied settlements
Our team systematically provided humanitarian aid and hot meals to seven transit shelters in Dnipro.
From the first hours of the Kakhovka dam explosion, East SOS was on the ground, offering comprehensive assistance. Our representatives, together with the State Emergency Service and volunteers, organized hot meal distribution, provided charitable aid, and ensured access to clean water.
The devastating consequences of this Russian terrorist attack impacted the Kherson, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. At the request of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions, we also contributed to the purchase of essential equipment for rescuers.
Our team actively monitors frontline regions to assess the needs of those affected by Russian aggression. Through donations, we provide assistance to communities, emergency services, schools, universities, and other organizations.
We have equipped humanitarian aid distribution points, supported the development of shelters and compact settlements, and procured essential equipment for kindergartens and schools to sustain offline education processes.
We are enhancing the State Emergency Service’s emergency rescue teams by providing essential equipment and tools.
On June 5, 2024, 16 representatives of the Alliance of Ukrainian Civil Society Organizations, including the East SOS Charity Foundation, signed a memorandum with the Ministry of Reintegration. This agreement aims to strengthen the role of organizations in humanitarian response, acknowledge our expertise, and support capacity building efforts.
Settlements along the front line, in de-occupied areas, and near the Russian border face numerous challenges: mined territories, lack of utilities and communication, and constant shelling. We support those who remain by delivering humanitarian aid, food packages, and hygiene products.
