The Charity Foundation “East SOS” has been uniting those committed to Ukraine’s future since 2014. With the onset of russia’s full-scale invasion, we have significantly expanded our efforts to assist and protect as many victims of russian aggression as possible. Our core values are equality, tolerance, and humanity – reflected both in our work and in our team culture.

We operate across government-controlled areas, providing evacuation and accommodation services, renovating shelters and IDP centers, documenting possible crimes, implementing educational programs, delivering humanitarian aid, conducting monitoring visits, advocating for systemic changes, and offering legal and psychological support. Our regional psychosocial and legal support teams are active in Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and Mykolaiv.

We are looking for a Psychologist:

  • Kharkiv (on-site);
  • travel to hromadas (communities) and the transit center in Lozova required;
  • remuneration discussed during the interview.

Key responsibilities 

1. The East SOS psychosocial and legal support hub “Zatyshno Space”:

  • individual psychological counseling, including psychological support and case management for survivors of violence;
  • developing and delivering group and awareness-raising activities (workshops, trainings, etc.);
  • keeping records and reporting documentation regarding beneficiaries (attendance lists, individual session forms, etc.);
  • participating in professional networking (local and national MHPSS clusters, sector events, trainings, and professional development courses).

2. Transit center in Lozova:

  • conducting initial consultations, providing basic support, and offering psychosocial counseling to evacuees;
  • providing information on available services and resources at the transit center, in the receiving hromada, and through partner organizations;
  • supporting people in crisis, including providing psychological first aid and accompanying to collective sites;
  • counseling on social rights, assistance, and relocation options.

3. Emergency response in Kharkiv:

  • providing prompt assistance to people affected by attacks;
  • responding to crisis situations;
  • offering psychological first aid and counseling on access to social services.

4. Outreach counseling and training in the hromadas of Kharkiv Oblast:

  • conducting outreach visits for information and counseling purposes;
  • providing psychological support to beneficiaries in hromadas and delivering trainings for local actors and partner organisations.

What we expect:

  • 2+ years of professional experience;
  • higher education degree in a relevant field;
  • personal vehicle and willingness to use it is an advantage;
  • understanding the problems and challenges faced by IDPs, particularly in relation to rights and social protection;
  • empathy and respect for vulnerable groups;
  • strong adherence to professional ethics and standards.
