The Charity Foundation “East SOS” has been uniting those committed to Ukraine’s future since 2014. With the onset of russia’s full-scale invasion, we have significantly expanded our efforts to assist and protect as many victims of russian aggression as possible. Our core values are equality, tolerance, and humanity – reflected both in our work and in our team culture.

We operate across government-controlled areas, providing evacuation and accommodation services, renovating shelters and IDP centers, documenting possible war crimes, implementing educational programs, delivering humanitarian aid, conducting monitoring visits, advocating for systemic changes, and offering legal and psychological support. Our regional psychosocial and legal support teams are active in Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and Mykolaiv.

We are looking for a MEAL Officer:

  • Kyiv (on-site);
  • possible travel within Ukraine;
  • remuneration discussed during the interview.

Key responsibilities:

  • implementing monitoring and evaluation systems for internal and external projects;
  • advising technical grant development teams on the implementation of appropriate MEAL systems;
  • collecting and analyzing data on activities, outputs, and outcomes, including monitoring the quality of primary reporting documentation;
  • conducting field visits to monitor project implementation;
  • preparing detailed evaluation reports, including findings and recommendations;
  • developing and managing feedback mechanisms;
  • contributing to the design of surveys;
  • conducting monitoring studies;
  • overseeing regular data analysis and preparing reports for donors and/or management;
  • integrating standards and best practices to strengthen the Foundation’s operations, including databases, indicator and analytical guidelines, dashboards, and data collection tools;
  • creating and maintaining electronic databases;
  • implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluating project implementation;
  • developing data collection tools and evaluation methodologies and preparing training materials for staff on their use.

What we expect: 

  • at least 2 years of experience working with MEAL systems, tools, and methodologies, including visual dashboards and/or statistical software packages;
  • strong data collection, analysis, and reporting skills;
  • understanding core evaluation methodologies;
  • using MEAL software and digital tools proficiently;
  • advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Forms;
  • understanding humanitarian standards, ethics, and principles;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • strong organizational and time management skills;
  • commitment to accountability, transparency, and a learning-oriented culture;
  • strong analytical skills and experience working with large volumes of data;
  • fluent Ukrainian language skills;
  • English proficiency at upper-intermediate+ level.
