What Motivates the EAST SOS Team to Donate Blood: Marking World Organ Donation and Transplantation Day

Every decision to become a donor can give someone a chance to live.

October 17 marks World Organ Donation and Transplantation Day. This is an occasion to talk about how donation helps save lives and to thank those who make it possible.

For a person waiting for a transplant, a donated organ can become their only chance for survival. Behind this wait are loved ones who want to hug each other again, plans for the future, and hope.

Blood donation is another way to help. Blood is needed after injuries, during surgeries, and throughout medical treatment. The EAST SOS Charity Foundation team regularly donates blood. Among donors are team members of the documentation, reconstruction, legal protection, evacuation, education, psychological, social, and humanitarian teams, as well as the call center and the Monitoring and Evaluation Department.

In the carousel, our colleagues share what motivates them to donate blood and why it is important to help in this way. Perhaps among these answers you will find motivation for your first donation.

Find a blood bank in your city or register in the donor database.

Our deepest gratitude goes out to all donors, to the families who support posthumous organ donation, and to the medical workers saving lives every day. Because of you, someone will have more time for hugs, warm conversations, and all the moments that matter most.
