The Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation donated three heaters and a stove to the family that runs the family-type orphanage “Pyroh”.

Trying to save children and adults from the war, Nataliia and Oleksandr Pyroh moved from the city of Marhanets to the village of Chynadiievo, Mukachevo district. It was challenging to do so – the family now has 18 members. Among them are ten children who were deprived of parental care. The couple treated them as their own.

As a result of the full-scale russian invasion, they were all forced to leave the city after the first russian shelling. Their grandmother moved along with her large family, as it was dangerous to stay in Marhanets.

“We have 40 minutes to pack, and then we’re leaving”, said Oleksandr when he returned home on August 7, 2022.

Natalia said that her family was once on vacation in Chynadiievo, rented a house there, and had several acquaintances. On the way, she called everyone she knew and asked for shelter.

“When I called the house owners in Chynadiievo, they kindly told us they would be waiting for us”, she said.

Children and adults are gradually socializing and adapting to safety. All the children have hobbies – the boys play football, the girls weave and embroider with beads, and a future musician lives among them.

“Danylo writes music, even tries to sell it! We support everyone’s interests and share the household chores”, said the mother.

The Pyroh family appreciates the kindness and openness of the people around them in their new place and the beautiful nature. When they moved to Chynadiievo, the children started helping the locals weave camouflage nets. They are called “Marhanets spiders” for their skill and diligence.

There is no printer in the village, and the family dreams of having one. They need to scan documents and print homework for their children regularly, so the Foundation’s team will certainly respond to the request and deliver the equipment to Chynadiievo.
