Sloviansk Sees Increased Evacuations as East SOS Calls on People to Leave High-Risk Areas
Due to the deteriorating security situation, the number of people leaving Sloviansk and nearby communities is increasing. This was reported by Roman Buhaiev, an Evacuation Crew member of East SOS, during an interview with Suspilne media.
Our crews work daily alongside the White Angel special police units and the State Emergency Service, responding to requests from across Donetsk Oblast. Settlements located almost 15 km from the front line effectively become a “grey zone” – targeted attacks by the russian army make it nearly impossible for humanitarian missions to go there. People are forced to leave these dangerous areas on foot, later being picked up by police teams and transported to meeting points with humanitarian organizations, including in the Lyman and Kostiantynivka communities.
East SOS urges elderly people and persons with disabilities to evacuate from high-risk areas without delay. Evacuating these groups requires more time and complex logistics, so it is crucial to leave in advance, while specialized transport can still reach the area.
