Vostok SOS delivered heaters, firewood, hygiene products, and bedding sets to the residents of Lyman
Lyman (Donetsk region) was severely damaged after 125 days of russian occupation, with 80-90% of the buildings destroyed. On October 1, 2022, the city was liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but the russian invaders kept trying to seize it again. For a long time, there were no electricity or heating. People mainly live in basements because of the shelling. Volunteers are constantly responding to humanitarian calls.
The Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation team also joined in. This year, in February and March, we delivered the following items to the residents of Lyman:
- 1000 food and hygiene kits
- 520 pillows and blankets
- 500 sets of bed linen
- 114 tons of firewood
Assistance was provided to all people: children, women, men, and older people. The activity is part of the project “Humanitarian aid, evacuation, and winter assistance to war victims in Ukraine”, supported by terre des hommes.
Last month, the Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation delivered the following items to the city’s residents:
- 58 blankets
- 50 heaters
Representatives of low-income groups and war victims received assistance.
The charitable aid was purchased as part of the project “Providing socially vulnerable groups with heating means for the winter period” with the support of the TIDES Foundation.
