Winterization Assistance for Vulnerable Households 2026

Last winter, unstable energy supply once again demonstrated that critical institutions must be prepared for possible power outages. For many of them, electricity is not only a matter of comfort but also a prerequisite for the uninterrupted delivery of essential services to people.

That is why the East SOS team helped institutions prepare for the upcoming cold season. With the financial support of Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe, we successfully completed a project under which 12 institutions in Kyiv city and oblast received backup power sources.

The following institutions received support:

  • Municipal Institution “Center of Social Services” of Medvyn Village Council (Bila Tserkva Raion);
  • Yahotyn Territorial Center of Social Services (provision of social services);
  • Boryspil Center for Integrated Social Services;
  • Tarashcha Geriatric Home;
  • Mysailivka Gymnasium of Bohuslav City Council;
  • Municipal Institution of Ivankiv Settlement Council “Territorial Center of Social Services” (provision of social services);
  • Municipal Institution “Muzychi Preschool Education Institution ‘Perlynka’” of Bilohorodka Village Council (Bucha Raion);
  • Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Kyiv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine”;
  • Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Kostiantynivka Infectious Disease Hospital” that has been relocated to Kyiv Oblast;
  • Isaiky Gymnasium of Bohuslav City Council;
  • Drozdy Preschool Education Institution “Kalynka” of Bila Tserkva City Council;
  • Hub Educational Institution “Zahaltsi Lyceum” of Borodianka Settlement Council.

In total, we delivered 15 generators of various capacities (from 3 to 50 kW) as well as two inverter power stations with energy storage systems, with a total value of UAH 5,203,545. This equipment will help ensure uninterrupted operations even during power outages and provide essential support.

As part of the project, our Foundation installed equipment in six institutions, and staff members underwent training on its safe and efficient use.

The charitable assistance was provided as part of the project “Winterization Assistance for Vulnerable Households 2026” with the support of Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe.
