On the Ground After russian Attacks: East SOS Regional Teams Support People Affected in Zaporizhzhia and Pavlohrad
Every day, Ukrainian cities and villages come under relentless russian attacks. On July 19 and 20, russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs, damaging residential buildings, infrastructure, and cars. On the morning of July 20, the russian army also attacked an apartment building in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Tragically, the attacks on both cities claimed lives and left people injured, including children.
The East SOS regional teams went on the attack sites to support residents of the affected homes. In Pavlohrad, the Foundation’s lawyer provided 15 legal consultations, while its psychologist conducted 14 consultations.

In Zaporizhzhia, the team delivered 9 legal and 3 psychological consultations.

“The enemy strikes the regional center with guided aerial bombs every day, causing extensive destruction and claiming lives. At one of the attack sites from the evening of July 19, we spoke with the mother of an 11-year-old girl who, tragically, was killed beneath the rubble. The woman was in shock. We provided immediate psychological support and gave the family the contact details of our support center. Our team stands ready to continue providing legal and psychosocial assistance to everyone who needs it. At attack sites, people also frequently seek legal advice regarding damaged housing, so we help them understand the e-Recovery (yeVidnovlennia) program, register property in the State Register of Property Rights to Real Estate, and submit compensation applications through the Diia platform,” said Alina Bilen, a lawyer with the East SOS Zaporizhzhia team.
