We continue to respond to russian attacks and support residents whose homes have been damaged by shelling. On July 12, the East SOS specialists worked at the sites of the strikes, helping people cope with emotional distress while providing legal and social assistance.

Kharkiv. In the city’s Shevchenkivskyi District, our lawyer provided five consultations, our social worker three, and our psychologist four.

“At the attack site, we saw extensive damage to residential buildings, including shattered windows, damaged balconies, and facades. Cars and civilian buildings were also affected. The strike occurred at around three in the morning. Residents told us the explosions were extremely powerful and left them deeply frightened. Our team helped people regain a sense of emotional stability and understand the next steps they could take,” said Marina Yunasheva, psychologist at the Foundation.

Zaporizhzhia. Our team supported residents of the Shevchenkivskyi District, where numerous private homes were also damaged. The psychologist provided six individual consultations, while the lawyer conducted 19 consultations. People sought advice on obtaining compensation for damaged or destroyed housing, inheritance procedures, and registering property rights in the State Register of Real Property Rights.

“During these field visits, we often meet people who need free follow-up legal assistance. This time, an older man approached us because he has long been unable to resolve an issue related to establishing the validity of a title document. We will help him with that. We also met homeowners whose houses had been damaged for a second time. They had not yet received compensation for the previous damage before their homes were struck again,” said Liubov Vasylenko, lawyer at the Foundation.

East SOS remains aside people affected by russia’s attacks. Together, we are overcoming the consequences and supporting one another.
