October 6 – International Medical Day

Over the three and a half years of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, the East SOS Charity Foundation has built a comprehensive evacuation cycle – a care pathway that accompanies people from the moment they call our hotline to their safe accommodation, psychosocial and legal support, and medical care.

“We focus on people with limited mobility – the elderly, people with disabilities, and those who cannot evacuate on their own. Every person deserves dignity, care, and support according to their needs,” – Olha Vladymyrova, Medical Care Coordinator at East SOS.

We express our deepest gratitude to our long-term partners and medical professionals in Dnipro, who save lives every single day: the family doctors of the Medical Practice for Family clinic and its founder Olena Kondratenko; the Emergency Medical Care Clinical Hospital – director Viktoria Korpusenko and head of the therapeutic department Olena Uvarova; the Regional Medical Center for Family Health; City Clinical Hospitals No. 4, No. 9, and No. 16, including their palliative care units; the Regional Oncology Clinic, and the Slobozhanske Central Hospital.

Since 2022, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Ophthalmology Hospital has performed dozens of free surgeries for evacuees under our care – giving people the precious opportunity to see the world again. In 2025, oncologic surgeons Dmytro Kichyk, Denys Tereshkov, and Mykyta Mishchenko began treating complex cases of sarcoma and squamous cell carcinoma, providing highly specialized medical care to those who need it most.

In August 2025, the Director of the Mechnikov Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital organized a consultation day specifically for evacuees from the affected areas supported by East SOS. Twelve people received consultations from medical specialists, individual treatment plans, and several were hospitalized for further care.

We would also like to thank the doctors of the Pavlohrad City Ambulance Station, who are the first to meet evacuees arriving from frontline areas and provide them with emergency assistance.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to all Ukrainian doctors for the lives you save every day, for your professionalism, humanity, and tireless strength. Thank you for your dedication, endurance, and kind hearts!
