From March 1 to October 31, lawyers of the East SOS Charity Foundation provided 22,102 legal services as part of a project aimed at supporting civilians affected by russian armed aggression.

East SOS specialists worked in the Mykolaiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Legal assistance was provided in remote communities, temporary accommodation facilities, and at the East SOS office in Dnipro. The teams also responded to the consequences of russian shelling in Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Pavlohrad, and supported evacuees at transit centers in Lozova (Kharkiv region) as well as Pavlohrad and Voloske (Dnipropetrovsk region). These centers serve as hubs where people evacuated from dangerous areas can register for assistance and plan further relocation to temporary or permanent places of residence. East SOS lawyers assisted with restoration of lost personal documents; applications for compensation for damaged or destroyed housing; resolution of family, pension, labor, and property issues; submission of inquiries to state registries and courts; provision of legal consultations and representation in court.

“Behind these requests and figures are countless life challenges and human stories. In each case, our specialists must act not only as professionals but, above all, as people – fairly, honestly, and with a deep understanding of each individual situation. Often, our team stands alongside people at a critical and sensitive moment in their lives. When they are confused or desperate, our role is to provide support, guidance, and legal assistance that helps them regain stability,” said Kateryna Skrypova, Deputy Executive Director and Human Rights Program Coordinator at East SOS.
