Residents of frontline hromadas (communities) in Ukraine’s east are still being forced to leave their homes behind due to relentless shelling.

In March 2026, with financial support from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF), the East SOS Charity Foundation helped 522 people flee dangerous areas in search of safety. Most requests came from Kramatorsk, Sloviansk and Oleksandrivka in Donetsk Oblast.

Throughout the month, another 436 people received logistical support, including accompaniment and ongoing assistance after evacuation. Among them was Volodymyr from Mykolaivka in Donetsk Oblast.

“Volodymyr is 39. He has a Group I disability status and uses a wheelchair. We helped arrange temporary accommodation for him at the Social Adaptation Center for People with Disabilities, operated by the NGO Ocean of Good. There, he is receiving the support he needs while awaiting further resettlement to Denmark,” said Ivan Saverskyi, Evacuation Logistics Manager at the CF East SOS.

The East SOS team continues to evacuate and provide logistical support to residents of frontline hromadas.

This work is part of the project Integrated Comprehensive Support and Protection for Vulnerable Evacuees, implemented by the East SOS Charity Foundation with financial support from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF).
