Integrated Relief Support for Vulnerable Populations in Severely Affected Areas of Kharkiv Oblast

Throughout March 2026, the Kharkiv regional team of East SOS, as part of a joint project with the League of Good Charitable Foundation, visited the communities of Starosaltivka, Malynivka, Izium, and Oskil—areas where residents live under the constant threat of enemy shelling and often face limited access to essential services and support.

During these visits, East SOS specialists provided more than 40 free consultations covering psychological, legal, and social issues. At the same time, the League of Good team distributed 700 non-food kits containing essential items to local residents.

The foundation’s experts also offered guidance on applying for compensation for damaged or destroyed housing under the eRecovery program, registering property in the State Register of Real Property Rights, handling legal procedures related to inheritance, child custody, and disability claims resulting from the war.

Kateryna Kodak, a Lawyer at East SOS, emphasized: “People often don’t know where to begin—how to apply for compensation, what is required to restore documents, or how to establish guardianship over children. During consultations, we aim to provide clear, step-by-step guidance and practical support.”

Psychologists also provided assistance to residents dealing with loss, anxiety, panic reactions, and the psychological impact of living under constant threat. During consultations, they helped stabilize emotional states and offered practical self-care strategies.

If you need support from a psychosocial and legal team in communities across the Kharkiv region, please contact the East SOS hotline: 0 800 332 614 (Monday–Saturday, 8 AM–6 PM)

These activities are implemented as part of the project “Comprehensive Assistance to Vulnerable Population Groups in the Most Affected Areas of Kharkiv Region”, in cooperation with the League of Good Charitable Foundation and with financial support from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF).

East SOS, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Policy, recently facilitated access to long-term nursing care services for 16 evacuees.
