Evacuation through the Eyes of Carlo Bravo: Transit Center in Lozova

News
18.02.2026

Carlo Bravo, an American photographer, captured powerful moments at the transit center in Lozova, Kharkiv region.

His photographs show the first hours after evacuation – people who have just fled their homes, holding their children tightly and refusing to let go of their pets.
These are families from Druzhkivka, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and other communities in the Donetsk region who are now forced to rebuild their lives from scratch.

The East SOS team meets evacuees every day at transit centers in Pavlohrad, Voloske, Lozova, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia.

Our team supports people in the first hours after arrival, assists with document restoration, and organizes medical support for older persons and people with disabilities. We help elderly people living alone find new accommodation, provide mobility aids for those with limited mobility, and supply pet carriers and food for animals.
