East SOS Super Team: Meet the Four-Legged Companions Who Bring Comfort with Hugs and Purrs
Alongside our specialists, there are always those who help restore energy after long and demanding days. Their superpower is bringing a sense of calm, comfort, and the feeling of home.
We continue introducing you to the furry companions of East SOS. Today, we’re sharing the stories of Lucky and Jack, as well as Patrick and Chupik.
Lucky and Jack: The Emperor and the Romantic
Kateryna Kodak, a lawyer at East SOS, has two beloved dogs, Lucky and Jack.

Lucky has been by Kateryna’s side for more than 11 years. She rescued him from an irresponsible breeder, and ever since, his favorite pastime has been curling up next to her and sharing with her all of his sweet dreams.

“He’s an emperor. Lucky’s facial expressions always make it clear that you were born to love him, scratch behind his ears, and spoil him with treats,” Kateryna jokes.
Jack joined the family five and a half years ago. Kateryna rescued him from the street when he was just a puppy, and before long, he became the true master of the yard.

The two even have their own hierarchy. Lucky’s playful nickname is The Boss, while Jack is affectionately called Stepashka. The names speak for themselves: until The Boss finishes his meal, Jack won’t even go near the bowl. Lucky often takes advantage of the arrangement – finishing his own food before moving on to his younger friend’s portion.
One day, Jack fell in love. Determined to visit his beloved, he devised an escape plan: he bent back the corner of the gate and secretly slipped away to see her. Eventually, he even brought her home and, like a true gentleman, offered her his own breakfast.
When his owners discovered the secret passage and sealed it, Jack watched the whole process with obvious disappointment. But love proved stronger than any obstacle, so he decided to dig a tunnel in a place where no one but him could reach.
Patrick and Chupik: Dignified Wisdom and Youthful Mischief
Yuliia Krat, Coordinator of the Psychological Support Program, is the proud owner of two cats – Patrick and Chupik.
Patrick entered Yuliia’s life 11 years ago as a birthday gift from a friend. According to his owner, he is a serious, even somewhat stern, cat.

Chupik did not join Yulia immediately. In 2024, he appeared on his own at the home of Yuliia’s mother, who had evacuated from Huliaipole to Ternuvate, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, after the start of the full-scale invasion. The kitten was gravely ill, but she nursed him back to health.

In 2025, the family was forced to evacuate again. Yuliia’s mother moved abroad, while Chupik found a new home with Yuliia.
“My human says I’m a little troublemaker. And I won’t argue with that – life is simply too interesting to stay in one place,” Chupik says.
Today, the playful young cat reminds his family every day that even after the hardest experiences, it is possible to find care, safety, and people who will love you wholeheartedly.
Each of these furry companions has a unique story, a distinct personality, and the little habits their owners cherish most. Every day, they help the women on our team regain their strength, smile after difficult days, and remember that sometimes the greatest support comes in the form of a warm presence by your side, the gentle sound of purring, or the joyful wag of a tail.
