EAST SOS Provides 5 Laptops to Inpatient Care Homes and Collective Sites with Support from EPAM Ukraine

Many people forced to flee their homes because of the war lose contact with family and friends. Inpatient care homes and collective sites frequently lack the technology needed to stay in touch.

Thanks to the support of the IT company EPAM Systems Ukraine, the EAST SOS Charity Foundation provided 5 laptops to several facilities where evacuees have been settled either permanently or temporarily. The devices were provided to residential (inpatient) care homes in Kalush (Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast), Medvyn (Kyiv Oblast), and Uman (Cherkasy Oblast), all of which are managed and continuously supported by the EAST SOS team. Another notebook went to the Ocean of Good Center for Social Adaptation of People with Disabilities in Dnipro.

Each place now has cozy, accessible spaces where residents can freely use computers and connect to the internet at any time.

“Having computers and internet access keeps people connected and less isolated. They can contact their families, use online services, including the Pension Fund portal, find useful information, and keep up with the news,” said Svitlana Agadzhanian, Partnerships Manager at EAST SOS.

This assistance was also made possible thanks to the Ukrainian Foundation Mriya, which provided the laptops to EAST SOS. We are deeply grateful to our partners: together, we are giving people more ways to stay connected, feel supported, and access essential services.
