East SOS procured and delivered pumping equipment worth UAH 832,986 to a boiler facility in Voznesensk (Mykolaiv region), which supplies heat to the city’s medical institutions. The installation was carried out by the municipal enterprise Teploservis.

Amid constant shelling, the risk of power outages, and harsh weather conditions, Ukraine’s critical infrastructure continues to operate under significant strain. Ensuring the uninterrupted functioning of these systems is essential — especially for medical facilities, where lives depend on stable conditions every day.

Voznesensk is home to approximately 45,000 residents. The newly installed equipment will strengthen the boiler room’s reliability, ensure continuous circulation within the heating system, and maintain stable indoor temperatures in healthcare facilities.

Among them is the Voznesensk Multidisciplinary Hospital, which serves more than 830 patients daily, as well as a primary healthcare clinic providing care to 160–250 patients each day. This support helps ensure that patients can receive medical services in safe and appropriate conditions.

“Overall, the process of selecting, procuring, and installing the equipment took about eight weeks. Choosing pumping systems for such facilities requires careful engineering analysis. We considered the parameters of the existing heating system, the hydraulic characteristics of the network, operating modes, equipment capacity, and compatibility with existing infrastructure. This approach ensures reliable, efficient, and safe operation in the long term,” noted Oleksandr Shmaniov, Infrastructure Manager of the East SOS Reconstruction Team.

Over the past year, the East SOS Reconstruction Team has implemented several infrastructure solutions to support communities. These include installing a solar hybrid power plant at a pumping station in Mykolaiv to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply, providing water treatment chemicals to the city, and developing project documentation for a mobile boiler house at a temporary accommodation facility in Zavodske, Poltava region.

This assistance was provided within the project “Comprehensive Humanitarian Aid to Conflict-Affected Ukrainians and Third-Country Nationals in Ukraine, Poland, Romania, and Moldova,” supported by Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe and funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
