On March 26, 2026, Kateryna Skrypova, Executive Director of East SOS, and Oksana Kuiantseva, Board Member of the Foundation, met with Adriana Porowska, Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the President of Poland. The meeting took place at the Alliance of Ukrainian Civil Society Organizations.

The discussion focused on systemic approaches to supporting Ukrainian youth, particularly ways to engage young Ukrainians living in Poland in initiatives that help them maintain ties with Ukraine and actively contribute to future reconstruction. Representatives from 16 charitable and humanitarian organizations shared their experiences supporting youth under wartime conditions.

“The experience of Ukrainian civil society organizations today is unique. We need both to study it and to build sustainable cooperation mechanisms where this experience serves as the foundation for joint decisions,” noted Adriana Porowska.

Kateryna Skrypova and Oksana Kuiantseva presented East SOS programs supporting youth, including individual assistance for students from temporarily occupied territories, catch-up education camps for those affected by online learning, and the repair and equipping of shelters, safe classrooms, and psychosocial support centers.

One of the key issues discussed was the lack of humanitarian support programs for young people returning from temporarily occupied territories. The East SOS team helps these youth enroll in Ukrainian educational institutions, navigate social and legal matters, and reintegrate into their communities. They also conduct information campaigns to encourage more young people to return to Ukraine.

The meeting was part of preparations for the International Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine (URC 2026), which will be held in Poland.

For civil society and charitable organizations within the Alliance, this conference is an opportunity to highlight the experience of civil society in responding to wartime challenges and implementing practical solutions.
