Donation in Action: East SOS Allocated Over UAH 117,000 to Strengthen State Emergency Service Units in the Chernihiv and Donetsk Regions in October–November
Enemy shelling continues to strike the frontline and border areas. In the Chernihiv and Donetsk regions, attacks on energy infrastructure and widespread destruction are exacerbating the humanitarian situation, turning winter into a season of survival. In these conditions, it is critical to unite efforts and support rescuers and local communities as they work to mitigate the consequences of shelling and protect civilians.
To enhance the safety of a State Emergency Service (SES) unit in the Chernihiv region, the East SOS Charity Foundation provided three signal detectors – radio-electronic reconnaissance devices that improve the protection of rescuers and civilians during emergency response and assistance at strike sites. The value of this aid amounted to UAH 74,100.

Additionally, to ensure proper nutrition for a service dog in one of the special-purpose emergency search teams in the Donetsk region, we purchased and donated 100 kg of dry dog food. Service dogs are vital to search-and-rescue missions, helping locate people trapped under debris and strengthening the operational capacity of units working in the harsh conditions of war. This support totaled UAH 9,100.

Additionally, our team purchased and delivered a book scanner and a thread binder, worth a combined total of UAH 34,623, to support emergency service units in the Donetsk region with their archival work. These devices will streamline document management and systematization, enabling more efficient planning of rescue operations.

“For our foundation, supporting State Emergency Service units has become a consistent practice aimed at strengthening the safety and capabilities of emergency responders. We understand how critically important the work of rescuers is – especially during wartime,” said Oksana Kolesnyk, Humanitarian Manager at East SOS.
East SOS provides ongoing support to State Emergency Service units in the Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. To date, we have delivered personal protective equipment (body armor, active ear protection, ballistic goggles, and helmets), tools for clearing debris, firefighting and demining equipment, as well as construction materials for setting up shelters.
Our evacuation crews also need your support. We are close to reaching our fundraising goal of UAH 2 million for electronic warfare equipment for the foundation’s evacuation teams. Your contribution will help us continue assisting those who are still waiting to be rescued.
