Bootcamp 2026: Selection Results for Teachers’ Project Management Training by East SOS

In frontline and border hromadas (communities), teachers are more than classroom teachers, they are often initiators for change within their schools and hromadas. For this reason, East SOS continues to support teams seeking solutions to local challenges and committed to taking systematic action.

As part of the School Up project, we have finalized the selection for our winter bootcamp and are excited to announce the five teams joining us for project management training this February.

Choosing was no small task. We received over 150 applications, each driven by a sincere desire to develop their schools and hromadas despite all the difficulties.

The key criterion was the clear alignment between the proposed ideas and the real-world needs and strategic development goals of each hromada.

We congratulate the winning teams:

• Snovsk Lyceum No. 3 (Snovsk City Council, Koriukivka Raion, Chernihiv Oblast)
  
• Yampil Lyceum No. 2 (Yampil Hromada, Sumy Oblast)

What’s next?

The first online meeting will take place on February 16. Participants will meet their mentors and receive their first homework: to conduct a field study in their communities, including surveys and analysis, to help determine whether the chosen issue is indeed the most pressing one or whether it is necessary to shift focus.

From February 23 to 27, the teams will meet in Lviv for a five-day bootcamp. Together with trainers and facilitators, they will embark on an intensive journey from identifying the problem to developing and presenting ready-made project solutions.

The final stage will be presenting the project outcomes to representatives of the Danish Helsinki Committee for Human Rights and the East SOS team.

This boot camp is not just about learning. It is about tools that will help schools become more resilient and hromadas find solutions and implement change on their own.

We look forward to the upcoming meeting and wish the teams inspiring work ahead.
