The East SOS Charity Foundation expresses its gratitude to the Smoloskyp Publishing House team for the generous book packages that help people feel supported during difficult times. Most of the books were delivered to residential care homes in Kalush (Ivano-Frankivsk region) and the village of Medvyn (Kyiv region). These facilities are home to evacuees resettled by the East SOS team, and the institutions have been supported with necessary equipment and repairs.

Our team regularly visits the shelters to provide psychosocial support, counseling, and organize events for residents. In these spaces, the books have found eager readers. Each page becomes a small island of calm, allowing residents to relax, immerse themselves in familiar stories, and feel the warmth of home even far from it.

Some of the books have also been added to the library corners of the all-Ukrainian network of psychosocial and legal support centers “Zatyshno Space” in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia. Here, literature serves not only as a source of knowledge but also as emotional support, helping people feel more confident, discover new ideas, and share experiences and stories.

“The donated books are very diverse: from popular science and historical essays to contemporary fiction and poetry. Such publications help people find peace in reading, become a source of new knowledge, and at the same time provide comfort during difficult times. This gift is an example of a responsible attitude toward the community, and we are extremely grateful to the publishing house for their support,” said Svitlana Agadzhanian, Partnerships Manager of the Reconstruction Department at East SOS.

The East SOS team expresses its sincere gratitude to Smoloskyp Publishing House for these books, which become wise friends and faithful companions, warming the hearts of everyone who opens them.

If you represent a bookstore, publishing house, or shop and would like to donate books to Zatyshno Space and other support spaces, please contact our Partnerships and Fundraising Coordinator, Yelyzaveta, at [email protected]. She will gladly provide information on how to deliver books to the places where they are most needed.

Recently, Ranok Publishing House also supported young visitors at Zatyshno Space in Zaporizhzhia and evacuees at the transit point in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
