The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, together with the East SOS Charity Foundation, has provided coordinated support to 20 elderly people evacuated from the frontline. All of them have been admitted for long-term medical care at Selydove Central Hospital, which is currently operating from the Odesa region due to relocation.

These individuals were previously evacuated by East SOS crews and partner teams from Druzhkivka and Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region.

All 20 evacuees are people with disabilities aged 63 to 88. The oldest, Antonina Hryhorivna from the town of Raihorodok, recently celebrated her 89th birthday.
After receiving 30 days of necessary medical, physical, and psychological rehabilitation, they will become eligible for another Ministry program – supported living and inpatient care services based on the “money follows the person” principle.

The East SOS Charity Foundation ensures a continuous chain of care for internally displaced persons – from evacuation by rescue teams to placement in receiving institutions – so that every individual is safe and under reliable supervision.

In addition, the Foundation has joined the Ministry’s broader initiative to restore social infrastructure and is contributing to the reconstruction of two buildings designated for inpatient care services in two regions of Ukraine.

Let’s continue saving lives together!
