Human Rights Education for Schools in the Luhansk Region
The program is based on the educational and practical model “School as a Territory of Human Rights”, developed within the framework of the national educational program “Understanding Human Rights.” It has been further enhanced and adapted by experts, incorporating Estonia’s experience in teaching Global Education methods in partnership with the NGO MTÜ Mondo (Estonia).
The initiative aims to promote awareness of human rights, democratic values, and active citizenship within the educational environment of eastern Ukraine.
It fosters a culture of respect for human rights in schools by implementing policies aligned with international standards, improving participatory decision-making, strengthening student self-governance, and delivering high-quality courses in human rights and civic education. The integration of best practices from Estonian educators further enhances the effectiveness of the program.
