A young girl named Valeriia, accompanied by her sister and friend, is now using the new beds provided by the Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation at the shelter in Kyiv.

These girls currently reside with their parents in the dormitory of the European University. Since November 2022, the university has been accommodating internally displaced persons (IDPs). During that time, the students relocated to other buildings or homes, prompting the administration to offer housing to those who had lost their homes or were unable to return to their hometowns.

The building houses over 300 IDPs from various parts of the country, with the majority originating from the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. The shelter is equipped with showers, kitchens, and laundry facilities.

To support the shelter, the Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation donated 60 bunk beds and 120 sleeping sets, which include mattresses and bedding.

In March 2023, we delivered 272 beds (including 106 functional beds) and 676 sleeping sets to 15 shelters in the Kyiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Cherkasy regions. The project is implemented by the Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation with the financial support of the Japanese non-governmental organization Peace Winds Japan.
