Vostok SOS is renovating Kalush’s center for internally displaced persons with disabilities.

The Charitable Foundation “Vostok SOS” is opening shelters for IDPs with limited mobility. They often need constant medical care and have no relatives who can take responsibility for them. We provide assistance to each of these people, so the evacuation is followed by temporary accommodation and professional care.

Currently, we are bringing back to life another center located on the territory of the Kalush City Hospital of the Kalush City Council. The building is over 100 years old and has not been used for more than ten years.

The Foundation’s team is working on the interior repairs. The builders are working on replacing utility systems: electricity, water, sewerage, and heating. Dismantling processes are also underway: replacing old windows, doors, and redevelopment.

We are making the space inclusive – the arrangement of the rooms will be convenient for a wheelchair and a functional bed. We are planning to build a dining room, kitchen, bathrooms, and space for staff.

The project is supported by donors The German Marshall Fund of the United States.
