The East SOS Team Held a Retreat for Recovery
Every day, the East SOS team stands by people whose lives have been changed by the war. We listen, support, and help them find strength in difficult times. Such involvement requires not only professionalism but also inner stability.
To maintain it, the psychologists of the East SOS Charity Foundation created a recovery space for the team — a retreat in the Dnipro region where everyone could slow down, take a breath, and find calm.
“I really liked that it wasn’t a training session, but a free space where you decide what you need — to release tension in the salt room or maybe try music art therapy. Walking, connecting, and time for yourself — everything was in balance and harmony. It was very valuable,” said Raisa Tolochko, Psychologist at East SOS.
The three days were filled with care for both body and soul:
- restorative water treatments and a salt room for physical relaxation;
- sound therapy — drums helped release tension and restore inner rhythm;
- walks in nature, silence, and fresh air;
- delicious healthy food and warm evenings with live music;
- connection with colleagues from different cities — new friendships, sincere conversations, and shared plans.
“Such an incredible mini-vacation allowed me to reboot and feel alive again when I needed it most. I felt care in every detail! It gave us a sense of safety and peace,” said Maryna Martianova, Accountant at East SOS.
The retreat reminded our team that self-care and caring for others go hand in hand — one makes the other possible.
The retreat was held as part of the project “Empowering Civil Society for Nonviolent Conflict Transformation with the Participation of State Actors”, implemented with the financial support of KURVE Wustrow.
Previously, East SOS organized a five-day digital competency training for teachers from relocated schools.
