Story of Tetiana from the Town of Hirnyk
Thirty-six-year-old Tetiana hails from the city of Hirnyk in Donetsk Oblast. She evacuated along with her three-year-old son, husband, and parents due to escalating fighting and constant enemy shelling.
It became very loud. My child couldn’t go anywhere, and even the playground near our home was frequently shelled. Besides, since April, we had no water, and a week before our evacuation, we lost electricity.

The police helped the family evacuate. They were first taken to the city of Kurakhove, and on the same day, volunteers transported them to a transit point in Dnipro region.
On August 27, we arrived at the transit point, where we stayed for three days. Then, the evacuation team of the ‘East SOS’ CF helped us reach the train station in the city of Dnipro, from where we traveled to the city of Uman.

In Uman, the family found an apartment, and Tetiana has received job offers. By profession, she is a neonatologist (a pediatrician specializing in caring for premature and newborn babies in hospitals and maternity wards). She used to work at the maternity hospital in the city of Selidove.
On February 14 this year, an enemy rocket hit our hospital. A pregnant woman was killed, as well as a mother and child in the pediatric ward.

Tetiana and her husband are now both unemployed. Her husband worked at a coal mine, which was also destroyed by a russian missile. Fortunately, no miners were on-site at the time.
During the evacuation, our organization supported the family with food packages.
We remind you once again that timely evacuation saves lives. Protect yourself and your loved ones!
