East SOS is evacuating residents of frontline settlements in Zaporizhzhia region!
Leaving one’s home filled with life, memories, comfort, and a sense of safety is incredibly difficult. However, in the frontline areas, where the enemy is keen on destroying every living thing, evacuation is the only chance left for saving people’s lives and health. The East SOS team is at hand to help people escape the danger.
Due to the challenging security situation in four frontline communities of Zaporizhzhia region, a mandatory evacuation of children with their parents or other legal guardians has been announced. The enemy is increasing the pressure and intensity of shelling, in particular attacks with unmanned aerial vehicles and fiber optic FPV drones, making staying in the frontline areas extremely dangerous.
This year’s first evacuation missions were carried out in the settlement of Novomykolaivka and the villages of Kyivske, Sofiivka, and Tersianka within the Novomykolaivka Community, Zaporizhzhia District. From there, we rescued a family with children aged 17 and 14, and also helped two elderly men and three elderly women leave the danger zone. Each evacuation is a life story we help save.
East SOS evacuation teams carry out door-to-door evacuations of the civilian population. We support people with disabilities, the elderly, lonely people, families with children, and pet owners.
After evacuation from frontline areas, people arrive at the Zaporizhzhia Transit Center, where the team of specialists from East SOS provides immediate support upon arrival. There, at the Transit Center, people can rest, recover lost documents, apply for financial assistance, receive essential psychosocial support, and get help with further accommodation.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, East SOS evacuation teams, together with partners, have helped rescue more than 95,000 people from frontline settlements, including more than 15,000 people with limited mobility.
You can register for evacuation via the East SOS hotline, which operates Monday to Saturday (8:00–18:00): 0800 332 614.

The evacuation of civilians is carried out by East SOS within the project “Protecting and Supporting At-Risk Communities in Eastern Ukraine: Multisectoral Humanitarian Assistance and Preparedness,” with the support of ActionAid and funding from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO).
Earlier, we explained why it is crucial not to delay evacuation from the frontline areas during winter conditions.
