On January 22 at 10:30 a.m., Yaroslav Korniienko, Evacuation Coordinator at the East SOS Charity Foundation, will participate as a speaker in the Large-scale Evacuation Seminar organized by the Council of the Baltic Sea States and the Estonian Rescue Board.

The event will bring together experts and practitioners from the Baltic region to discuss evacuation strategies, field challenges, and volunteer engagement. Yaroslav will join the panel discussion online for “Ukrainian Experience in Conducting Large-Scale Evacuations.” The seminar will take place on January 22–23 at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences.

“Since 2022, Ukraine has gained practical and extensive experience in evacuating civilians, which enables each country to review procedures written on paper and adapt them to real-world challenges. Seminars like this may save hundreds of thousands of lives in the future, so we understand the need to share our knowledge,” — Yaroslav Korniienko, Evacuation Coordinator at East SOS.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, East SOS has provided a comprehensive rescue cycle — from evacuating civilians from hazardous areas to assisting them with temporary shelter, resettlement, restoration of documents, access to social benefits, and medical care.

East SOS, in cooperation with its partners, has evacuated over 88,000 people, including more than 12,100 individuals with limited mobility. The seminar will provide another opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen international cooperation in the field of rescue operations and civilian protection.
