Even in the midst of war, children have the right to education and care. In frontline communities, educators strive to keep kindergartens and schools open despite the challenges. By equipping shelters, they create safe spaces where children can learn, play, make friends, and feel supported by adults.

In August, the Foundation supplied construction materials and school equipment to  educational institutions in Okhtyrka (Sumy region) and Sofiivka (Mykolaiv region) to repair and equip the shelters. The total assistance amounted to UAH 229,008.

In Okhtyrka, UAH 31,650 was allocated for plastering, concrete walkways, and the installation of drainage systems at the kindergarten shelter.

The donations were also used to procure and deliver school equipment for the lyceum in Sofiivka. The foundation supplied two flipcharts, a cooler, a projector with a screen, 30 chairs for the assembly hall, and 30 sets of tables with chairs for classrooms. The aid amounted to UAH 197,358.

“In times of war, a school should be a place where a child can learn and develop in peace, knowing that there is a safe space nearby. High-quality renovations and proper equipment help to equip the shelter so that it is safe inside and children can continue learning during the air raid,” — Oksana Kolesnyk, Humanitarian Manager at East SOS.
