Donation in Action: East SOS Allocates Over UAH 50,000 in October to Purchase Fire Doors for a Zaporizhzhia Gymnasium
Educational institutions in frontline regions face daily challenges of war – ensuring the safety of students and educators, adapting the learning process, and maintaining infrastructure. Safety during emergencies is particularly critical, as it directly concerns the protection of hundreds of children and staff. In October, the East SOS Charity Foundation allocated UAH 55,000 to purchase metal fire doors for two emergency exits at Gymnasium No. 89 in Zaporizhzhia.
“For the educational process to be effective, children must feel safe. The East SOS team is directing donations to help schools implement essential safety measures. Children should be able to study without fear, and teachers, educators, and technical staff should be able to work in secure conditions,” said Oksana Kolesnyk, Humanitarian Manager at East SOS.
Previously, the East SOS Charity Foundation has donated building materials, school supplies, tableware sets, electric heaters, folding and bunk beds, thermos flasks, metal structures, metal-plastic doors, charging stations, and dry toilets to equip shelters in educational institutions across the Sumy, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
