Donation in Action: East SOS Allocates Over UAH 360,000 for a Rehabilitation Center in Chernihiv
The war has affected not only cities and infrastructure but also the lives of those who continue to live and work under extremely difficult conditions. Support remains vital for people from vulnerable groups who need additional resources and time to regain their strength and a sense of security.
In September, the East SOS Charity Foundation provided assistance to equip a rehabilitation center in the border town of Chernihiv, established by the NGO Human Rights Education House in Chernihiv. The center serves people with disabilities, children, veterans, representatives of national minorities, human rights defenders, volunteers, journalists, and others in need of recovery and rehabilitation.
With the support of donations, the foundation supplied:
- 6 shower columns;
- 3 water heaters;
- 15 towel dryers;
- an electric dryer;
- and a water purification unit.
The total cost of sanitary equipment and household appliances, which will significantly improve living conditions in the facility, amounted to UAH 367,750.
“Supporting people and communities overcoming the consequences of the war is crucial for us. Such initiatives help not only to equip spaces for recovery but also to restore people’s sense of dignity, safety, and mutual support,” said Oksana Kolesnyk, Humanitarian Manager at East SOS.
