Protection and essential psychosocial support of the war-affected population of Ukraine’s frontline regions
Project goal
The project is aimed at ensuring psychosocial and legal support to war-affected people in the frontline regions of Ukraine, while strengthening access to essential information, safe socialization, and learning opportunities that support resilience and recovery.
Project objectives
- Provide comprehensive support to people affected by the war in the safe spaces ‘Zatyshno Space’ and through outreach activities in frontline communities with limited access to services, in transit centers, and in areas affected by strikes, with a focus on emergency response and referral to appropriate services:
-psychosocial support (individual and group counseling, psychological first aid (PFA);
-social support (individual and group counseling, case management, and individual support);
-legal assistance (individual consultations, support in legal proceedings, and organization of group informational events).
- Raise public awareness of evacuation procedures, available social services, support for veterans and their families, as well as the prevention of and response to gender-based violence through informational sessions and community events.
- Promote the social integration and development of people affected by the war by organizing professional and creative activities, including training sessions, workshops, art therapy, support groups, and developmental activities for children in the safe spaces ‘Zatyshno Space’ and within communities.
- Organize Сatch-up and Recovery Camps during school breaks for children in frontline regions to improve their mental and emotional well-being, develop their social skills, and help them catch up on educational losses.
