Ukraine Response Consortium: Providing Intersectoral Humanitarian Assistance to Conflict-Affected Populations in Ukraine
Project aims to reduce the risks of gender-based violence (GBV) and promote a sustainable culture of safety, health, dignity, economic independence, and self-sufficiency—both among conflict-affected individuals and within Ukrainian society as a whole.
Program objectives are to transform public perceptions of the role of women in society, ensure equitable access to quality services, and strengthen systems of response to widespread human rights violations.
Empowering women through awareness-raising on gender-based violence and developing their skills to prevent and respond effectively.
Providing comprehensive psychosocial support to children, adolescents, and adults to address immediate needs arising from the war. The program addresses a broad spectrum of issues, including emotional distress, common mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic attacks, grief, and other psychological challenges.
Providing legal assistance on a range of issues, including:
- restoration of personal documents (passports, diplomas, birth certificates, pension IDs, etc.)
- extension of social benefits
- support in cases of document loss
- coordination with government bodies and volunteers for family reunification
- restoration of property documents
- matters of guardianship, custody, and child protection
- labor-related issues such as forced dismissal, termination of employment contracts, and non-payment of wages
- unresolved financial obligations due to hostilities (e.g., credit or contractual issues)
- protection of the rights of persons with disabilities
- cases related to protection from the consequences of gender-based violence
Social support is provided across several key areas, including:
- assistance with the adaptation of socially vulnerable groups
- ensuring equal access to services, the labor market, benefits, financial aid, and state-guaranteed social services
- support aimed at maintaining individuals’ mental and emotional stability
- inclusion in vocational activities and training
- identifying sustainable pathways to economic independence
Case management to ensure structured assistance for survivors of violence, including informing them of all available support options, identifying and coordinating solutions to the challenges they face, and providing continuous emotional support throughout the process.
Key tools and activities may include:
- Acquisition, enhancement, or transformation of professional skills
- Training in general competencies such as language proficiency, communication skills, digital literacy, and Internet safety
- Support for starting entrepreneurial activities
- Facilitation of employment, both physical and remote
- Consideration of age-specific professional development needs
